Francis Burnett

BURNETT (BURNET), Francis (1788?-1841) — London

Globemaker. Recorded specifically as a globemaker in parish registers 1812-1823 at the baptisms of his children. Given his addresses just to the north of the City of London, he was presumably employed by one of the City globemakers.

Probably to be identified with the Francis Burnet born 13 Feb 1788 and baptised 23 Feb 1788 at St. Giles Cripplegate, London, the son of John Burnet, a hairdresser, and his wife Mary. He married Sarah Carder at St. John, Horselydown, 17 Jul 1808. He was buried at the Wesleyan Globe Fields Burying Ground, Stepney, 5 Dec 1841, aged fifty-four.
