WALL, Edmund (1815-1895) — London
Map engraver.
Born 7 Mar 1815 and baptised at Marylebone 29 Mar 1815, the son of William Wall, a tailor, and his wife Sarah. Apprenticed (Stationers) without fee to Thomas Starling (see BME 2011) on 1 Dec 1829. He married Emma Sarah Wallace at All Saints, Islington, 15 Aug 1850. He was specifically recorded as a master map and chart engraver on census returns. In 1861 he was living with his wife Emma and four children in St. Pancras. In later life he became an office keeper at the Meteorological Office. He died in the latter part of 1895 and was buried at Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington.
