WRIGHT, William (fl.1823-1851) — London
Engraver. Engraved Map of the state of New York for Timothy Dwight, “Travels in New-England and New York” 1823.
Born in London in or about 1792, he was specifically recorded as a map engraver on the 1851 census return, lodging in Fetter Lane not far from his son, William James Henry Wright (see BME 2011), with whom his details may well be confused. He was perhaps the William Wright who died aged seventy-four in Holborn in the latter part of 1867.
