CRAIG, Thomas (fl.1841-1859) — Edinburgh
Map engraver.
Born in Edinburgh 28 Oct 1821, the son of Adam Craig, a cabinet-maker, and his wife Margaret Low. The elder brother of George Robertson Craig above. He was recorded as an apprentice engraver in 1841 and as a journeyman map and general engraver on the 1851 census return, when resident in East Broughton Place with his wife Jessie and three small children, the eldest of whom had been born in London in or about 1846. He had married Jessie (Janet) Gronmeyer in Edinburgh 7 Feb 1845. Craig died before 1861.
