James Dunn

DUNN, James (1831?-1907) — Edinburgh

Map engraver.

Born in Midlothian in or about 1831, Dunn was recorded specifically as a map engraver on the 1871 and 1901 Census returns, in the former year living with his wife Barbara, her mother Ann Boak, and four young children. In 1851 he had been living with his elder brother George Dunn, also an engraver, in Gateshead, and married Barbara Boak at Leith 7 Nov 1862. He died in 1907 aged seventy-six and was buried at the Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.
