Woodcut engraver. Engraved a perspective plan, J. D., The porcelain manufactory of Worcester for The Gentleman’s Magazine of Aug 1752.

Possibly a connection of Edward Cave, who published the magazine. Mackenzie & SBTI note a Joseph Cave (fl.1712-1756), engraver in Edinburgh, Engraver to His Majesty’s Mint, responsible for engraving a number of banknotes for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
